This week’s Library Champion is Mrs. Theresa Betkowski. Mrs.
Betkowski uses the Dorothy W. Hightower Collaborative Learning Center &
Library about once a week. Betkowski attends meetings in the library and encourages
students to use the online resources in the library. Betkowski has taken GFYE
classes to the library for library orientation with a librarian. Betkowski uses
GALILEO and its many databases for research. “My colleagues should use the
library staff to talk to students and stress research on campus.” Betkowski
feels librarians can help students with issues of plagiarism. “The librarians
can have a talk in classrooms or at the library.” Betkowski loves the new facility with the
meeting rooms and open space. “Students can meet and talk in a more
collaborative environment.”
