This week’s library champion is Ms. Michele Perry-Stewart.
Ms. Perry-Stewart uses the Dorothy W. Hightower Collaborative Learning Center
& Library GIL Express and campus holdings primarily for research.
Perry-Stewart brings her classes to the library for orientation so her students
can “determine whether information/research is credible.” Perry-Stewart says,
“In an age of instant information and fake news, it is imperative we provide
students with the skills to access reliable information.” Perry-Stewart’s
students use the LibGuides and she appreciates all the work the librarians put
into creating these “compendiums of goodness.” Perry-Stewart prefers EBSCOhost
for its “great functionality.” Perry-Stewart recommends the Reference Librarian
program to her colleagues. “I have used this program for my classes and
individual research. The reference librarians have been thorough,
knowledgeable, and helpful with any research questions I have aimed at them.” Ms. Stewart-Perry feels the staff and facility
are “both top-notch. The library has the look of a research university, but the
feel of a small, liberal arts campus.”
