Creating D2L Reading List using GALILEO and other library electronic resources:

This video takes you through the process of creating D2L reading lists and using GALILEO and other library electronic resources. This highly detailed video will teach you how to make sure you assign the correct lists to the correct courses, and how to customize the lists and prevent accidental duplication. The more specific the reading list name is, the better. This will show you how to add/remove articles and links to new or existing reading lists. Here, you can also add notes and instructions to your articles along with other web resources that are not available through GALILEO or other library resources. Once this information is added, all students have to do is click on the names of the books, articles or videos. If a PDF full text is available, the student can see it right within D2L. If it is a book, the GIL information will be provided so that the student can locate it in the physical library. Depending on the browser, it may appear that the link is not working. This video explains how to make the link work by disabling protection, allowing the webpage to be displayed. Faculty members can also see which students have opened the specific links on the reading list. 

                                                                                                                                                 

Scheduling Personal Librarian Appointments:

This is an overview of how to schedule a consultation appointment to meet with one of our librarians. A list of the librarians' contact information and specialties is provided. Students will want to try and schedule an appointment based on the designated specialty of the librarian. However, if that librarian is unavailable, students may schedule their appointment with another librarian. When filling out student information for the appointment, students will be asked their objective as well as the assignment in which they are seeking assistance, along with the professor's name. This will help the librarian prepare for the appointment and give better instruction. After confirming the appointment, students will receive an email with the date, time, and location of the appointment as well as the librarian's contact information. If needed, students may cancel the appointment and go through the process again to reschedule. Attached to the email is an Outlook calendar reminder. Opening this attachment will allow students to add the appointment to their Outlook calendar.

                                                                                                                                                  

Making Study Room Reservations:

This is an overview of how to reserve individual and group study rooms within the library. Students are required to reserve the room prior to entering it. Individual study rooms will only accommodate one person. Group study rooms will accommodate two to six students at a time. Only one person within the group will need to complete the reservation process. If the student needs to reserve on-the-go, he/she may scan the QR code on the outside of the room and then complete the form via mobile device. The study rooms may be reserved for two consecutive hours at a time. It is important that the student make note of the room number when choosing the date and time of the reservation. Clicking on "Submit Booking" does NOT mean the student has finished the reservation process. The student will then receive an email from LibCal, where they will be asked to confirm the reservation within 15 minutes. If need be, the student may cancel the reservation via the same email. To confirm the reservation, click on the link provided in the email, then choose "yes". After choosing "yes", the reservation is complete. Another email will be sent to the student as a confirmation, with a link to add the reservation to their calendar. The video will go in detail on how to find the rooms.
